Sof’s birthday fell on a Tuesday, so her celebrations were spread out over the week. She didn’t have any complaints though, this girl loves her birthday!
I’m in love with these balloons! They are so cute! I’m also in love with the joy this girl has always.
Her first celebration was simply a normal Friday night with the addition of singing, candles, and a few gifts.
Slime is all the rage, so supplies to make it was a big hit. Fingerling Monkeys were also popular. It ended up being a one hit wonder at our house though. Meaning, I think this particular night is the only time she’s ever played with it!
Aunt Anne and Uncle Rick got her an American Doll Lego Gymnastics set. That was a huge hit! Daddy helped put it together, but Sof did most of it!
Donut dessert for the win! So easy and cute!
She loves this. It makes my heart so happy to see her joy when everyone is singing to her. Just looking back at these pics make me happy.
Celebrating is exhausting, but we weren’t done yet!
We ended up having a day off of school on her actual bday because of a water main break. Typical Sof, she was kinda sad, but we spoiled her accordingly!
We had some gifts at home and then we went to Emmy’s for dinner and dessert. We try really hard to get together with the cousins ON bdays, even if it’s just for dessert. Having the day off of school made this so much easier!
See the phone in her hand? That’s because her big sissy Face Timed in so she wouldn’t miss the singing! I love our tribe. These 6 will always show up for each other, I feel confident about that.
We saved the best presents for last. This is where the squishy obsession started! The unicorn onesie was something she really wanted but didn’t ask for, so she was thrilled! Emmy and crew got her an outfit from Justice that she had to wear the next day!
Again, celebrating is exhausting!
We hadn’t planned a friend party, but Sof kept asking about it. I relented and threw together a last minute shindig! It turned out perfect! She had 6 friends over for dessert and gifts, and then we packed everyone up in cars and went to “Bounce!” for open gym time on a Friday night! It was easy, cheap, and the kids had a blast!
Sof,
Mommy loves you so so so much. You attack everything with joy and enthusiasm. I love when you use your creative brain to make things. Eight was great, but 9 will be fine! Even though I always say I want you to stay little, I really love to watch you grow! I’m the very luckiest mommy in the whole world to have you!
Love, Mommy XOXO
