February

When you take cheer and Valentine’s day out of February, there's not much left!  That makes this short and sweet!

We had a break from school and managed to get all 5 of this group together to see Coco.

There are many benefits to helping in Sof’s classroom.  I love knowing all the kids and building relationships with them.  We skyped every other week with our Grace Girls in Sri Lanka.  The kids love it and look forward to it.  They all want to be in Sof’s class because they know they'll get to skype then!  After skype I ran mad minute in the hallway.

Sof loved having me do it because she got to help me set up and pick up at the end.  Just that little act made her feel so special!

Although winter was still in full swing, we had a couple days that were warmer and we loved it.

Sof traded the slime obsession for a make your own squishy obsession.  I looked everywhere for foam for her to try it.  The first kind I bought was not the right one!  It was a crumbling mess when you cut it!  She loved it though, and was so proud of her creation!  We later figured out that buying a memory foam pillow and cutting that up was much better!

We had dinner out at Lexi’s favorite place Cherry Blossom.

Some everyday moments…

Adrienne has been an awful shopper her whole life.  She would much rather have me pick out her clothes and just bring them home.  Most of the time she likes what I pick and wears it.  So I was super excited when she had a date and picked out this dress for it.  It was perfect!  And she shopped for it BY HERSELF!  Not only that, she bought it $10 on the clearance rack!  Such a proud mommy moment, LOL.

Valentine’s Day

IMG_2510

With all the cheer weekends this year, we had a hard time finding a night for the kids to make Grandma’s Valentines.  With her being in a new place this year we didn’t need as many.  Em was watching Sof for us one night so she had the girls get ‘em done!  The boxes we used this year turned out super cute!

We did have a little Valentine get together.  Em and I can’t resist Valentine gifts.

I bought Natalie a Claire’s gift card and it was pretty much the best day of her life.

For the life of me I cannot remember where Lexi was this night.  She’s always getting invites for trips with her friends so I’m sure she was gone for the weekend!

We had planned to see Grandma right before Valentines day to pass out the boxes, but she ended up not feeling well that day so we had to move it ahead.  We brought the boxes anyway and the director kept the boxes to put out at each person’s seat the next dinner.

We love visiting Grandma Jackie!

She loved the boxes the girls made and she’s always so proud to have all of them visiting!

Sof had a party at school.  I can’t believe I don't have a picture, but she gave everyone a Valentine that said something about “lighting up her world” with a finger light attached to it.  They were super cute.  She spent a lot of time making her teacher’s card.  He is diabetic so no candy for him!

I signed up to bring in donuts for her party, but someone couldn’t wait!

Despite the scheduling struggles, we still made it all happen!

We love Red heart day!

February Cheer

February was full of cheer.  We were in Cincinnati once and Columbus twice(actually I think once was early March, but they were back to back weekends!).  It was hotels every weekend forever.  It seemed overwhelming looking at the schedule, but it made the long winter months go fast and forced us to spend a lot of family time!

Cincinnati was a one day competition, but the girls competed on opposite days(all the eye rolls).

We were able to have a fun dinner out with a bunch of other families in our shoes with kids on different days!  Spending time outside the gym is so fun for the girls.

IMG_3648IMG_3649IMG_3651IMG_3652IMG_3653IMG_3655IMG_3657Sof’s team did great and hit zero, but did not earn a bid.  Lexi’s team was awarded a bid to nationals!

Sof had a quick one day comp that was local.

Then it was off to Columbus.

Another fun weekend and night out with cheer friends.

We left knowing we’d be coming back the next weekend!

The next weekend was wildly successful.  Both teams won their division and earned rings.  Sof’s team won jackets for being the overall winners.  Winning isn’t everything, but I have to admit, it’s really fun!

This was another competition where each girl competed once on different days.  Luckily Sof went first so she was able to swim that night!

Lexi’s team also had a great performance that won them rings.

I think we went like 6 weekends in a row with cheer competitions, but looking back we had so much fun.  So much work goes into these routines, so it’s always a treat to see them compete(especially when the scorecard works in their favor!).
