We love Valentine’s Day! We decided to make Valentines and pass them out at Grandma Jackie’s place again since it was such a big hit last year! We opted for the less time consuming option of bags of candy instead of baking cookies, but it’s the thought that counts!
Kaitlyn had her friend Sammy join us again. The more the merrier!
It was so popular last year we made even more bags this year! I think we had close to 70! The girls did a great job writing sweet sentiments to make each resident feel special.
Em and I always like to get a little gift for the kids. We usually like to coordinate better, but in true fashion we threw this together at the very last minute and were scrambling a little to get everything! Great minds think alike, so this was the year of the water bottles. Everyone got one, and I think Kaitlyn got two, LOL.
Sof is all about the emojis, so this bowl from Emmy couldn’t be more perfect!
Water bottle love!
Valentine’s comes on the same day every year, but not surprisingly it snuck up on me. Sof was supposed to create a box for her valentines and bring it school. We had PLENTY of forewarning on this, but I was figuring it out at the last second. I didn’t get creative and use a cereal box and cute duck tape. I was that parent buying the premade version at Michaels the night before. It was cute though, and Sof was thrilled.
Also, let me tell you about this nonsense. The whole second grade did a tropical theme for Valentine’s Day. Excuse me? Valentine’s IS A THEME! We do not need a theme on an already themed day! I already have the perfect Valentine outfit for my kid! Off to Target I went to try and marry the Valentine and tropical look. Bananas are close enough and we had a tropical themed necklace and pineapple hair clip.
Luckily we still had our visit to Grandma’s to use our red and white.
The kids got right to work passing out their Valentines and the reactions were precious. It’s honestly such a silly thing, but for some of these people it means the world to have that few minute human interaction. This lady actually cried.
Kaitlyn is so good at this. She’s a natural at making people feel comfortable and loved.
We brought Grandma’s favorite lunch(Olive Garden) and were able to use one of the community rooms to eat.
Mom got the kids some little gifts. Obviously we like to overdo it.
Emily introduced Grandma Jackie to snapchat filters.
I’ll just leave you with this…
You’re welcome.
