Although I loathe all the gear that comes along with winter, I love a beautiful crisp morning.
We were so happy to have Lexi back at the gym cheering, and especially filling in on Sof’s team. It was all going well, until she was working on her lay out and landed wrong on the trampoline. She ended up with a fracture in her ankle that sidelined her for about 8 weeks.
Adrienne’s pom team held a clinic and Sof joined. She loved it, but couldn’t join them for the performance day because of a cheer competition.
That same morning was the Home depot craft day. Mark was out of town and I was busy working the clinic, so luckily we have Uncle Rick who’s always willing to step in!
We took Natalie for her first dinner at the Japanese steakhouse and basically traumatized her with the fire!
Pusheen forever.
Sof tried out for her school talent show. Lots of her friends buddied up together to do routines, but she did it on her own!
When your principal makes the perfect typo.
Sof lost another tooth. I can’t handle it. Adult teeth in the front just make you big.
Senior night for poms for basketball season.
Adrienne’s pom team had a showcase. So fun to see all their routines on a stage. Lexi and Sof had a cheer competition so Mark took them to that so I wouldn’t miss Adrienne!
Back in January Mark went to Florida to visit his Aunt Monnie and Uncle Jack. They have a beautiful old music box that Mark has talked about ever since I’ve known him. He remembers it fondly from his childhood and always kinda hoped he could have it one day. Low and behold, he came back with it after his visit, and we are thrilled. It is such a unique piece and holds so much sentiment. The kids have stood around it listening, begged Mark to play it for their friends, and all adults who visit our home get a demonstration as well. You’d think I’d have some really sweet pictures of all this, but alas this is the only one-LOL! But at least it gives you the idea of how neat it is!
Mornings with Sof.
We spent one of our mid winter break days at Fort Clarkston with our neighborhood buddies. These girls are so great together.
We headed up to Traverse City for what was supposed to be a ski weekend. It was basically spring weather when we got there, and we didn’t even know if there'd be enough snow! Lexi stayed home with Grandma since skiing wasn't going to be an option for her! We jumped out of the car and went for a walk immediately!
Friday nights at the Jessups.
We got in a day of skiing without all our bulky gear. It couldn’t have been more beautiful!
Sunsets in TC are a must and this one did not disappoint.
When the cat won’t come out from under the bed, join her.
We still had an extra day of break that Adriene and I used to go down to the Detroit Art Institute. We love it there, and they had a special exhibit on coffee, tea, and chocolate. We knew we had to see it!
When we started back to school we were able to pull out some of our spring clothing!
Lexi got her cast off and switched to a removable boot, which was so much easier!!
Kaitlyn played volleyball for the winter season. We all kind of got into it! Sof and Natalie played on the other side of the gym with the extra balls, Livy and Lexi kept score(Lexi didn’t want her pic taken), and we watched! I’m so amazed at how much she improved from the first session.
We finally got together with Klimeks for our annual “Christmas”! We had it scheduled for January but had to cancel because of sickness. Doesn’t matter when it happens, we are just committed to making it happen!
Aunt Sally and Uncle Erik brought egg roll supplies for the kids to make their own. Such a fun activity! Sof loved it even though she didn’t eat one!
Making slime is all the rage right now, so the kids have tons of it. It is a little addicting to play with!
The grandmas always get one gift for each kid. This year was mostly gift cards-because big kids. Natalie got ANOTHER baby!
Adrienne had a school dance the same night, so she came for the afternoon and then we let her head to her friends!
February was good.
