Lexi’s 14th Birthday

The craziest thing about 14 is the fact that you are eligible to take driver’s training at 14 and 3/4.  That means that 9 months from now, less than a year away, Lexi will have a driver’s permit.  Huh??  This is crazy talk.

Lexi really wanted her room redone to reflect a more mature her.  We’ve been talking about it for awhile, and I totally agreed we needed to do it!  I took her shopping a couple of times, and got a feel for what she was looking for.  Then I started buying things and hiding them in my trunk!  Lucky for me her big day fell on a Friday, and Emily wasn’t working.  I took the day off too, and once Lexi got on the bus we went to work tearing her room apart!  Before pictures are pitifully sad.

Junk, junk, and more junk.

Emily and I had SOOOOO much fun doing this!!  When it was done I could hardly contain my excitement!

I hid in my bedroom so she would come upstairs looking for me!  Of course she came in and had a snack, turned on the TV, and took her time coming up.  I. Was. Dying!

When she finally came up she was very excited, and one happy girl!

I was relieved to see that she loved what I picked out!  Phew!

Of course we celebrated since it was a Friday!  We also celebrated Sof’s Gotcha Day, so both girls get candles and singing:)

Lexi did the coolest thing.  She wrote herself a note 4 years ago, and held onto it all these years!  She was so excited to open it!  I should have taken a picture of the note, but it basically said “I hope you are happy and working hard in school”.  It was 2 pages long, and so cute!  Only Lexi would think to do that!

My sweet Lexi Lou, still an awesome big sister, best baker in the house, and still in love with sugar!  I love my middle girl.
