Remember January? I do. Wait, did it actually end? Because it’s still freaking freezing and snow covered, and I just can’t tell where one month ends and another starts these days. I do remember starting the new year with an appreciation for the snow and cold, that kept us inside with candles and fires and games.
We had an evening at Anne and Rick’s early on. It used to be a more frequent event, but ages and stages have shifted and weekend nights have gotten scarcer.
Sof has had some mornings she didn’t want to go to school. Not because she doesn’t love school, but because like the rest of us she doesn’t want to get out of bed.
Time to go to school, but first let me take a selfie!
She loves using the hand sanitizer(which she calls hanitizer-I think she’s on to something) at Prime Time care. She stops every morning to get some before saying good bye to me.
Once she’s at school she’s very happy. She still loves learning and loves her friends.
We had a couple snow days no one was complaining about:)
Although, after a few snow days at home, when a scheduled day off came about this text happened.
And resulted in this…
She packed herself, swear.
We had way to many baked goods in the house. They will linger on my hips long after the snow melts. It’s always shocking when you make a batch of cookie dough and only have enough left to make 5 baked cookies. Yikes.
We had a camouflage spirit day at cheer. I usually suck at these thematic days(which is always surprising because I generally like themes). They always fall on the Tuesday after competition(which is a day they should just be happy we even made it there). For whatever reason though, I pulled this one off. Boys long sleeve tee with the arms cut off, and a spool of ribbon. Bam.
Adrienne and I went on an outing with her dance group. Her friend is now performing in the traveling cast of Beauty of and Beast, and it was playing 2 hours from us.
The party bus ride there and back was filled with hysterical events, including but not limited too, a one hour hold up on the side of the road with the state police. Making memories people.
We’ve had the opportunity, several times now, to see one of our own on a professional stage, making a living as a result of their training. It never gets old.
So happy for her mama.
Sof and I received our Disney tickets for our Russian Adoption Reunion trip this summer. We. Are. So. Excited.
Em and I were looking for an activity to entertain the kids one Friday night. I had $20 in gift cards to a game place we hadn’t been to. Little did I know it would cost me another $150 to buy dinner and tokens.
All so we could go home with these lovely treasures.
Unlike the beginning of the month where we were happy to hunker down, by the end we were just dying to get out. When we had a day above 0, Lexi, her friend Rachel, and I found a little trail to hike.
Livy and Adrienne had a show in February they started rehearsing for. One particularly busy Saturday, we got Livy ready and got her to dance. Gave me a chance for a little lunch date with her:)
We had our non-bowling night. So proud of group for still making this a priority!
And there you have it, January. Better late than never:)
