It’s been awhile since Easter fell on a weekend not attached to spring break. This was fantastic for several reasons. First, the Easter Bunny hates having to visit vacation spots. It’s just a lot of extra work for him. Amen. Second, we were able to go into Kalamazoo and spend it with Grandma Jackie. It’s always tough to find a day that all six kids are free from their commitments, and Steve isn’t working! I would’ve liked to go to church in the morning, but seeing Grandma is the best trade off.
The Easter bunny delivered!
Where did he go?
After looking for eggs and opening gifts, we got ready and loaded up in the big white van. The family express straight to Kzoo! It was a beautiful day and we spent most of the time outside.
My mom had an Easter egg hunt prepared for the girls. Each girl had a color they had to find.
Grandma knows how to get the big girls interest…money!
My mom cooked. It’s always a struggle to get an edible meal that doesn’t burn the house down. It was a close call, but she persevered!
I like to call this one “Dinner’s served”. In case you’re unsure, you are right. This is a pot holder smoldering after being thrown out onto the driveway.
I’m not teasing. We had a nice meal, and then we proceeded to celebrate any birthdays that fell within 6 month to either side of Easter. No really, it was like everyone. Better to be safe than sorry, getting everyone in one place is really hard.
There will not be any presents nor dessert until I get a nice picture.
Thank you.
We were officially celebrating Mom, Dad, and Natalie, so they had actual presents! The usual clothing for my mom, but we found a really cool book for my dad. It’s a collection of all the front pages of the Washington Post from the year of his birth.
Natalie got another baby! She’s so obsessed with her baby dolls! It’s really cute to see how she takes care of them though.
All that was left after that was dessert! Spring is a popular time for births in our family!
Happy Birthday and Happy Re-birth of Jesus. How’s that for tying it together? Bam.
