December brought decorating and Christmas jammies.
I was 5 days late filling the advent calendars, but no one was complaining when they got 6 pieces of candy on day 6!
We did lots of grocery shopping for parties.
Sof and I enjoyed our days off with baths, reading, and Starbucks trips for snowman cookies.
Dinner out with Lexi means playing the claw game. Lucky me she always wins…
We enjoyed our non-bowling group dinner out.
Sof was invited to her first birthday party. She was so excited she sat right down and drew a picture for her friend. After some anxious nerves to start with, she had a fabulous time!
Adrienne had a day of dance shows that required Sof and I to sit in the freezing cold for the first show, and then kill a few hours at a winter festival.
We had a little football rivalry at the neighbors!
Mark and I had a wedding and a party in the same night:) Talk about feeling old, the little girl that lived next to us in our first house got married!!
Alison and I really loved the candy table. And the photo both.
My sister and I made another attempt at seeing the local lights show. Well, it’s not that local, we have to drive a good 40 minutes. Last year we waited over two hours, only to be turned away because we did not get to the entrance before the closing time. This year we were feeling pretty good about it. Got there earlier, and the line seemed to move pretty good. About 40 minutes into it, we were at the entrance…and then past the entrance. What!!! Wait, didn’t we just pass the entrance? What the heck? The entrance was barricaded with city vehicles!
We stopped at a gas station and found out it was closed due to flooding that night. Really??? There was no signs along the way, no mention on Facebook, and nothing on their website. That’s it, I will never ever go to the light show again!!
So, now we have 6 kids in their pajamas in the car for the past 3 hours. What to do? We stopped at the mall and made a visit to Santa! It had to be done anyway, so why not? It was late on a Sunday night so no one was there. That wasn’t enough to convince Adrienne to go in though. Can’t say I blame her! Anyway, lemonade out of lemons…
And with that I give you other random happenings in December in pictures…
Although Christmas adds a whole new level of business to our everyday, I never tire of the decorations and lights in the house.
