Christmas Eve is always a favorite. Armed with the perfect dresses, food and drink, and friends invited…we were ready!
Sal always arrives first.
Then we head over to Covert’s place.
Then it’s back home to continue the celebration. Our friends the Winters’ joined us as well as Em and crew.
Cullen joined Adrienne.
Drinks, appetizers, and poppers are really the best part!
Mark had lottery tickets for the kids. This year we had very few winners. I think $2 was the most!
We did our formal dinner, even though nobody ever seems hungry by this point!
After dinner the dresses came off and pajamas went on. A little bit dancing and craziness ensued.
Sof left the obligatory cookies, milk, carrots, pictures and a note for Santa.
And to all a good night…and then Christmas morning!
After gifts and breakfast, it’s time to get ready and head to Kzoo. Sof had a cutie pie dress to wear.
I can’t even with how cute she is. I don’t know what the other kids wore. I didn’t take their picture. We’ll all just assume they were cute too, just not cute enough to take a picture.
The theme for Grandma Linda’s is excess. We eat too much, have too many gifts, and talk and laugh too loud. We’re good with it though. Excessive is fine for a day.
The best part of too many gifts is it takes forever to open them! Our rule has always been one by one rotating through youngest to oldest.
Grandma surprised us and gave each Emily and I one of her rings. She has long since said they were for us, but we didn’t know she would give them now. Each of our rings is our birthstone. She was very emotional giving them and obviously Em and I will cherish them.
We stayed overnight at the hotel like usual. Adrienne and I always have a bathroom mirror selfie. I agreed even though my make up was already off!
The swim the next morning is always our favorite! This year Sof was able to try out her new mermaid tail from Santa.
And with that, Christmas 2017 was a wrap!
