Lexi just finished performing in her school’s musical. She was Bird Girl #1, which was a great part for a 6th grader! Sof was able to participate also, as they offer a little siblings option.
It made it a lot of fun to have both of them in it. It’s a very family oriented production with lots of opportunity to help out! Sof and I sold tickets at the lunch hour. Sof thought it was super cool to eat lunch with the big girls. She got to see Lexi and our neighbor Rachel.
We had a snow day the week of the performance. There was a unbelievable amount of set painting that needed to be done, so Adrienne and I went in and did what we could.
Sof absolutely loved every practice and performance!
Opening night we had a crowd, because more snow was in the forecast for Saturday and the driving promised to be awful.
There were a few nervous and technical glitches, but it was was a success!
Lexi sang her solo beautifully and made a great bird girl!
After the show we of course had to go back to the house and have some brownies! Adrienne and Livy had dance, so they couldn’t come to the show.
Adrienne was happy to partake in dessert when she got home though! Kaitlyn loves her Adrienne!
The show performed 4 times. Each role is double cast to allow more kids to shine. This means Lexi performed in her bird girl role twice, and the other two shows she was a jungle animal.
I went to see her last performance on Saturday, and it was so much better than Thursday! I was bummed everyone else wasn’t there to see it! You could definitely tell the kids had worked their nerves out!
It was fun and we’ll miss it, but good thing it is over. This being a star thing is exhausting…
