I can’t say good bye to “lazy” summer days, because honestly we didn’t have many. Like I could probably count on one hand the amount of days we didn’t have to be somewhere in the morning. Nevertheless, summer is the season of yes. Yes to sleepovers, play dates, swimming, biking, campfires, and late nights. And we did plenty of those things.
I also said yes to dressing yourself one day…
We got a few have to’s out of the way as well. Like dentist appointments. Sof did great and even got x-rays!
Driver’s training was a big accomplishment also! It’s such a pain! I understand the importance of proper training, but how do you fill up 8-10am, 4 days a week, for 3 weeks, just talking about driving? Don’t you just need to do it? It’s done though, and she can officially get her permit.
She can drive a car, but puts her oatmeal in the freezer to cool then forgets about it. #blondprobs
Speaking of big girl…she had a great summer. Friends, dinners, and a concert.
We finished up our dance season with the annual family potluck. This is always a favorite event because contrary to popular belief, dancers like to eat…a lot!
Then the last performance at Market Day. There is a talent show first and then the dance performances. Adrienne is required to participate in the talent show through dance, but Livy and Lexi decided they wanted to do it too! They’d been practicing a cappella and sounded really good. Em and I were a little worried they would get up there and be silly, but they did great! I was busy videoing, so I don’t have pictures of them on stage:(
Livy is such a beauty!
We had a great last weekend that’ll get it’s own post, but I felt compelled to get these pics posted tonight! Tomorrow is a big day! I have a high schooler AND a middle schooler! I can’t believe it. Adrienne was born ready, but Lexi still seems so young to me! We did a little school shopping and sure enough she looks ready.
We had registration and got her class schedule and locker combination. She’s practiced and feels ready, although I’m sure there will be butterflies. So, with that, I must say good bye sweet summer days that allow for so much more of what we want to do, and hello school days that bring more challenges and push us to grow.
